چکیده

Abstract Introduction Laparoscopic colorectal cancer resection (LCCS) has been shown to reduce blood loss when compared open surgery. There are no national guidelines regarding need for pre-operative group and save(G&S) sampling in LCCS patients. Our study aims assess the necessity of G&S samples through identifying rates post-operative transfusion following LCCS. Methods Retrospective all patients who underwent between 1st January 2019 31st December 2019. Results Of 102 surgical procedures, 42 right hemicolectomy, 21 anterior resection, 19 sigmoid colectomy, 12 left 8 APER. The median age was 67(range 56-86) years. All received two valid samples. 13 cases were converted. haemoglobin 127g/L, 114g/L. <100mls. Only 4(3.9%) required transfusion, 3 whom converted due intra-operative bleeding. fourth case had decreased post-operatively without return theatre. A significant difference evident level needed those did not (P = 0.031). total 9 units transfused. Twenty-one cross-matched used. Conclusion Evidently, is most likely conversion loss, as well with low haemoglobin. patient specific approach assessing requirement elective improve cost-effectiveness, particularly taking into account normal

Incisionless Laparoscopic Colectomy for Colorectal Cancer “Hybrid NOTES Technique Applied to Traditional Laparoscopic Colorectal Resection”

Background: We recently developed a new technique of laparoscopic colectomy (LAC) for colorectal cancer. This procedure, called “Incisionless LAC (iLAC)”, involves completely laparoscopic double stapling technique (DST) without mini-laparotomy. Methods: This technique was applied in the cases with relatively early-stage cancer of the sigmoid colon or rectum. The procedure involved 5 ports. Lymp...
